Local wellness clinic, River City Wellness and Acupuncture, in Louisville, Kentucky, now offers Soliman Ear Allergy Treatment (SAAT) at Eastpoint Location

River City Wellness and Acupuncture, in Louisville, Kentucky, is thrilled to announce that it now offers the innovative Soliman Ear Allergy Treatment, commonly referred to as SAAT, at its Eastpoint Parkway location. The local wellness clinic has been working to improve the lives of Louisville citizens through a holistic approach to medicine since 2016. The team of licensed acupuncturists offers acupuncture, cupping, moxabustion, herbal medicine, shiatsu and tuina massages and lifestyle recommendations to help bring peace, clarity and healing to their clients. And now allergy sufferers in and around Louisville can visit River City Wellness and Acupuncture to receive Soliman Ear Allergy Treatment (SAAT) for allergy relief.

Soliman Ear Allergy Treatment is a powerful technology that has recently been introduced to the field of holistic medicine. It is a technique that uses simple but specialized acupuncture to treat allergy symptoms. Compared to other treatments, SAAT has been proven to provide the longest relief from allergies, with some symptoms reduced by up to 95%. SAAT involves a single acupuncture needle that is placed in the ear and can treat allergies related to a variety of foods including: gluten/wheat and soy, dairy and eggs, sugar, meats, nuts, fruits and vegetables, shellfish, preservatives and environmental factors. such as: animal dander, dust, mold and pollen, chemicals, trees, grasses and weeds. Clinical experience also shows dramatic improvement for people with Alpha-gal, a red meat allergy often developed after a Lone Star tick bite.

At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, allergy sufferers seeking relief will go through a two-step process during SAAT. The first step is to identify the allergen itself through allergy testing or the elimination process. Allergy testing is done using bioenergetic tests that help identify environmental or food allergies. Food allergies can also be identified using the elimination process which involves a food diary and an elimination diet. Once the allergen has been identified, the second stage of treatment involves the licensed acupuncturist locating the reactive point in the ear where the acupuncture needle will be placed. Each needle treats a specific allergen and up to 3 or 4 different allergens can be treated in one visit. The needles are covered with a medical bandage, often unnoticed by others, and worn for three weeks.

With over 50 million allergy sufferers in the United States alone, treatments like SAAT can be life changing. That’s exactly what River City Wellness and Acupuncture hopes to bring to the residents of Louisville, which is the 6th highest ranked city in the nation for environmental allergens. When allergies can sometimes be deadly, it’s important to find a treatment that works. SAAT is a proven, non-invasive, chemical-free approach to allergy treatment.

The addition of Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) to the list of services offered by River City Wellness and Acupuncture should come as no surprise to those familiar with the wellness clinic. Owner, operator and licensed acupuncturist, Lindsay Matthews, M.Ac.OM, L.Ac, has bridged the gap between Eastern and Western medicine since beginning her career in 2008. Acupuncture itself is what inspired Lindsay Matthews to become a medical professional and remains the holistic approach on which River City Wellness and acupuncture focus within the practice. Acupuncture is the process of inserting fine needles into specific areas of the body to rebalance the body’s energy flow and restore health. The process of getting acupuncture is almost painless as the needles are inserted into points on the body where they rest for 30-40 minutes. Some of the benefits of acupuncture include pain relief and an overall improvement in well-being.

Soliman Ear Allergy Treatment (SAAT) uses the use of acupuncture needles, inserted into the ear, to provide allergy relief for people with food and environmental allergies. Because of the similarities between acupuncture and SAAT, it made sense that Lindsay would start offering SAAT in her wellness clinic when so many people in and around Louisville suffer from allergies. Additional services offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture include:

  • suction cups
Cupping is one of the oldest methods in Chinese medicine and has recently been westernized. suction cups is done by heating the air in a glass cup and placing the cup on certain parts of the body. When the cup comes in contact with the skin, it stimulates the skin to open the pores, which then promotes blood circulation, clears blockages and removes toxins. Cupping can help relieve pain, respiratory or gastrointestinal conditions, arthritis, colds, flu cases, stress, and muscle aches. (It is important to note that cupping leaves temporary marks on the body due to suction. The marks may turn red or purple and usually last 1-2 days.)
  • Moxabus
Moxabustion is an extension of acupuncture therapy which involves burning herbs at certain acupuncture points. The herb, mugwort, is well known among various cultures for its healing properties and is dried and then burned on acupuncture needles. Moxabustion, often referred to as moxa, is a treatment that nourishes, warms and energizes the body while promoting healthy circulation. There is a variety of forms of moxa which can be used during a healing therapy session. Direct moxa and heated needle moxa are two of the many varieties offered by River City Wellness and Acupuncture.
  • herbal therapy
Herbal medicine is one of the main principles that traditional Chinese medicine relies on for both the treatment and prevention of disease. Blueprints, animals, and minerals are all chosen based on their ability to normalize bodily energy that may be out of balance. At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, herbal medicine formulas are specially prepared using classic and modern approaches and come in pill or capsule form for ease of use.
  • Lifestyle recommendations
Lifestyle recommendations are another service offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture for those looking to achieve complete balance in their lives. At River City Wellness and Acupuncture, they will work with anyone interested in finding ways to break old habitscreate new, healthy ones, and restore general well-being.
  • Shiatsu and Tuina Massage
Shiatsu and Tuina massage originated in Japan and China, respectively, and both work with the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Thanks to Shiatsu, light pressure is applied to the meridians of the body. Tuina massage ranges from light to deep tissue work and is more like western massage. The two massages offered at River City Wellness and Acupuncture are combined with acupuncture treatment resulting in a deeply relaxing and beneficial experience.
